Hot Yoga Experiences > Journaling
Alex - I am a one word type of person so I have been taking one word to descride the feeling of my practice and building from there. Todays word was "frustrated".
No worries Alex - you will get specific Journaling assignments once Teacher Training begins officially. For now (hint, hint) feel free to journal your experiences during your hot yoga practice. You will treasure this written journal of your hot yoga journey, especially during Teacher Training.
Yesterday I thought of a something---after every hot yoga class---whether good or bad, I would like to acknowledge one thing that went good, or one thing that I accomplished, learned, or realized. I have definitely taken (at the very least) one great thing away from each practice. Wouldn't it be cool to record each thing and see how you grow?
I often find myself without words and in a state of pure spiritual bliss after hot yoga cracks my kundalini wide open. All I experience is gobs and gobs of purple light on my 45 minute ride home. I'm hoping our journaling assignments will assist me in expressing this state of being.
I am looking forward to seeing what the specific journaling assignments will be. While in class I have found myself thinking of what I would write about and in the last class my mind wondered briefly to the "Yoga Mat for Sale" article posted on the public Riverflow. The reason my mind went in that direction was because I had asparagus for dinner the night before class. Hmmmmm.
OMG, I love that "Yoga Mat for Sale" article! Hilarious. If anyone hasn't read it, do!!!
June & Mary, Please save me time and let me know where the article entitled "Yoga Mat For Sale" is located. Thanks.
I'd also love to read the article. Can someone attach a link?
I find when I journal about my yoga experience or meditation I write the same thing over and over, so I am looking forward to prompts!
Hi Jane - the article is on the public side of Riverflow under "Beginners - Hot Yoga Humor". Hysterical!!! Iwas crying I was laughing so hard.
That article is one of the funniest things I've ever read. It actually is part of the "BEST of Craiglist"...13 Sep 2011.
NOTE: Hey TTS - the article can be found right on our website, at http://www.riverflow-yoga.com/hot-yoga-benefits/ along with a lot of other funny yoga stuff - click here and comment about your reactions by clicking COMMENT under the post (and any of the others you laughed at) - Rhonda
So guys, in the poetry world we have writing prompts. For anyone who is unfamiliar it's like a topic on something specific to write about or even a style of writing. They can build off one another and really fun and stimulating for creativity. I'm struggling on what to write about for a yoga journal... Any one have any good ideas?
